Mustang Of The Day: 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake Convertible

Created to replace the SVT Cobra and commemorate Carroll Shelby’s original Mustang-based GT500’s 40th Anniversary, the 500 HP 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 emerged as the most powerful production Mustang. Yet, in the case of the 2014 Shelby GT500, excess reigns supreme.

Boasting a supercharged DOHC 5.8L Ford V-8 engine producing 662 HP, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and supported by SVT-tuned underpinnings, it delivered staggering performance with aggressive styling to match.

One of only 500 Super Snakes made in 2014, this convertible began as a 2014 GT500, later enhanced at the Shelby American factory in Las Vegas with a polished Whipple supercharger, elevating its power to 850 HP.

Featuring a 6-speed manual transmission, short-throw shifter, 3.73:1 differential, Shelby/Wilwood disc brakes with red calipers, matte black racing stripes, Shelby Super Snake hood scoop, A-pillar gauges in a carbon-fiber housing, Shaker audio system, and black 20-inch Shelby forged wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The wide-body kit by Shelby allows for substantial rear tire coverage.
