In 2013, the model underwent updates, including new front-end styling for the GT500, standard HID headlamps, new LED taillights, and the removal of the front grille to enhance cooling. Additional improvements comprised twin fuel pumps, larger fuel injectors, larger Brembo front brakes, retuned springs, an enhanced cooling system, and a reinforced Tremec 6-speed manual transmission with a single-piece carbon fiber driveshaft.
The 2014 Shelby GT500 boasts a supercharged and intercooled 5.8L DOHC “Trinity” V8, delivering 662 horsepower and 631 lb-ft torque.
