The impressive Shelby 1000 was introduced by Shelby American in 2012. Given its remarkable 1,000 HP rating, this limited-production Shelby Mustang was upgraded by hand at Shelby American’s Las Vegas facilities.
Power comes from a 5.4L Ford V-8 engine equipped with a Kenne Bell 3.4L liquid-cooled supercharger, boasting a 1,000 HP rating. The powerhouse is complemented by a 6-speed manual transmission with a short-throw shifter and an aluminum driveshaft propelling a 9-inch rear end. To enhance power delivery, handling, and response, the car features unique K-members, Shelby/Eibach K2 adjustable suspension, and a billet aluminum rear Watt’s link. The braking system comprises Shelby disc brakes with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers.
Body modifications include a distinctive hood with functional heat extractors, a functional front splitter, and a rear diffuser. Carbon fiber appliques adorn the front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser. Despite being built for maximum performance, the Shelby 1000 does not compromise on race-bred usability and comfort, offering Sport seats, a competition-style A-pillar gauge pod, dual-zone air conditioning, and power door locks and windows.
