In 1989, the Ford Mustang Saleen SSC made its debut, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the Ford Mustang’s introduction. Despite this significant milestone, Ford made minimal efforts to commemorate the brand’s 25th anniversary, they just simply attached a dashboard emblem featuring a galloping-horse logo onto that year’s Mustangs.

The Saleen SSC, however, represented the pinnacle of Mustang performance in 1989, boasting 292 bhp compared to the standard Mustang’s 225 bhp. Each Saleen SSC Mustang underwent extensive modifications, including an enhanced 5.0-liter V8 engine with a larger 65mm throttle body, modified intake manifolds, ported heads, roller rockers, tubular headers, and a Walker Dynomax exhaust system.
