In all, silver was seen as an exterior color option over fifty times in the Mustang's history so far. The first Silver Mustang was introduced the first year of Mustang production in 1964 as Silver Smoke Gray. One of my favorite silver Mustangs is the 1979 Pewter Indianapolis 500 Pace Car replicas built to commemorate the use of a Mustang at the 1979 Indianapolis 500. More recently the Mineral Gray and Satin Silver in the SVT Cobra Mustang in 2003 captured my attention, as did the Lee Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition with its unique silver shade. Ingot Silver has been a staple silver colors in the Mustang lineup since 2011 and continues to be a strong seller.
