The California Special Comes Back For The Seventh-Generation Mustang

At the 2023 edition of the LA Auto Show, Ford unveiled the all-new 2024 Ford Mustang GT California Special. As with the previous generation California Special, this all-new Mustang comes with a raft of aesthetic upgrades to distinguish it from the rest of the lineup.

Notably, the horizontal slatted grille makes a return, accompanied by Rave Blue “nostrils” and a GT/CS badge. Ford extends this color scheme across the car, including the 19-inch wheels, interior stitching, and side graphics, providing a contrast to the black accents. Two 19-inch wheel options are offered, depending on whether you opt for the GT Performance Package.

Under the hood, the California Special retains the same 486-horsepower, 5.0-liter Coyote V8 found in the standard GT. The California Special package comes at an additional cost of $1,995 on top of the GT Premium price, and you can choose between the 6-speed manual or the 10-speed automatic transmission.
