Ford Introduces The Mustang Dark Horse R

In their newest video, Ford Performance has revealed the Mustang Dark Horse R, a turn-key race car designed for enthusiasts who want to spend their weekends on racetracks. While retaining the fantastic elements of the standard Dark Horse, the R model incorporates specific racing cues tailored for track use.

This model boasts several enhancements over the standard Dark Horse, including the latest Ford Performance livery, Borla racing exhaust, and 19-inch wheels with Michelin racing tires. Inside, the Dark Horse R features significant updates, such as a removable steering wheel, Recaro racing seats, Spacro harness, and a roll cage. The cabin keeps it simple, without elaborate screens.

Under the hood, the Dark Horse R is powered by a retuned 5.0-liter Coyote V8, delivering 373 kW with a six-speed manual transmission. It comes equipped with new oil and transmission coolers, a race suspension with Multimatic DSSV dampers, adjustable anti-roll bars, and front camber plates. Safety features include a built-in fire suppression system.

The Mustang Dark Horse R is set to compete in the Mustang Challenge series, sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), featuring over 10 events across six race tracks.
