FOR SALE: 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Convertible

Offered with 244 kilometers (152 miles) since new

For 2011, the Shelby GT500 carried over much of its predecessor’s design, but the changes made—though subtle in appearance—significantly impacted performance. While the GT500 was already known for its blistering acceleration, many critics noted that it weighed around 300 pounds more than the Mustang GT, with most of that extra mass concentrated over the front axle.

The most significant update for 2011 was a new aluminum-block 5.4L V8, replacing the previous cast-iron unit. Though it retained the 32-valve configuration and supercharger, the switch to aluminum reduced weight and improved heat dissipation, helping mitigate power loss from heat soak. A revised twin-core intercooler further enhanced cooling, boosting output by 10 horsepower. Additionally, the suspension was upgraded with stiffer springs, revised shocks, and a lower ride height, significantly refining the car’s handling characteristics.

This 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 convertible, now listed for sale on Bring A Trailer, was initially delivered to Richport Ford in British Columbia and has just 244 kilometers (152 miles) on the odometer. It features a black exterior with red racing stripes, a black power-retractable soft top, and Shelby-specific details such as hood vents, a rear spoiler, and polished exhaust outlets. It rides on staggered 19” and 20” forged alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, with stopping power provided by Brembo front brakes.

Inside, the cabin sports Charcoal Black leather seats with red accents and embossed Cobra logos. Features include a Shaker 500 sound system, navigation, cruise control, and air conditioning. Power comes from a supercharged 5.4L V8 producing 550 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, paired with a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
