At the SEMA Show in October 2009, Shelby Automobiles unveiled a new Turbo Package. The “Shelby Turbo” Package, with 550 horsepower, improved the car’s performance, handling, braking, and appearance. It was the first turbo system designed to meet 50-state and CARB compliance for a post-title package on this platform. Unfortunately, this package never entered production. The installed components included a Shelby/Turbonetics Turbocharger with 550 hp, a short throw shifter, Shelby Pro-Plus 4 Wheel Brake System, a performance suspension with caster/camber plates, La Dual Exhaust, Shelby Bar Grille and Stripes, a Shelby Gauge Pod with Shelby Signature Gauges, a serialized dash and engine bay plaque, a Shelby Functional Deep Draw Hood with pins, and specific 18″ x 9″ chrome aluminum wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 275/35/18 tires.
This is the prototype and the only car built, making it a one-of-one and it is now up for sale on Bring A Trailer with only 13k miles on the odometer.
This Performance White car boasts the Shelby Turbo Package, which adds a GT-H front bumper cover, “Deep Draw” hood with hood pins, a bar grille, and Shelby Turbo graphics on the hood and quarter panels. Exterior extras comprise a rear spoiler, power-adjustable side mirrors, faux quarter panel vents, and dual exhaust outlets. Rolling on chrome 18″ wheels with 255/45 front and 285/40 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires from 2007. It benefits from upgraded suspension with a revised rear sway bar and performance springs. Braking power comes from four-wheel disc brakes featuring Shelby-branded Baer six-piston front calipers, single-piston rear units, and cross-drilled and slotted rotors at each corner.
Inside, Dark Charcoal cloth seats with Pony-logo inserts grace the cabin, shielded by Shelby-branded floor mats. The driver’s seat adjusts powerfully. Additional interior amenities include keyless entry, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, air conditioning, a short-throw shifter, Shelby Turbo-branded door sill plates, and a Shaker 500 audio system with an in-dash six-disc CD changer.
The Shelby Turbo Package for the 4.6-liter V8, co-developed with Turbonetics and Mustang Racing Technologies, includes a Shelby-branded Turbonetics turbocharger, a front-mounted intercooler, a blow-off valve, and polished intercooler piping, delivering a potent 550 horsepower. A Ford Racing strut tower brace enhances the engine bay. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, and a Borla exhaust system completes the setup.
Don’t miss this opportunity to acquire a truly unique and an important piece of Shelby Mustang history.
