It was initially delivered to Paradise Ford Sales in Scottsdale, Arizona, on June 28, 1965. Beneath the hood, it packs a 289ci HiPo V8 engine paired with a replacement Ford Toploader four-speed manual transmission.

Chassis SFM5S305 reportedly exchanged hands at a dealer in Tucson, Arizona, before the second owner in California acquired it and added a fold-down rear bench seat. In 2015, the current owner acquired it from a previous owner of four decades in Lake Havasu, Arizona. Recent servicing within the past year included an engine and transmission overhaul, along with the replacement of the shifter assembly.
