2004 Ford Mustang GT: Ultimate Guide

2004 Ford Mustang GT

More of the Same for the 2004 GT

There weren’t many changes made to the 2004 GT. It kept the Deluxe and Premium packages that Ford debuted in 2001 and 2002 stayed around. The interior upgrade package that was added for the 2003 GT was an option again in 2004 and included larger headrests and silver interior enhancements like the shifter ring, door lock soldiers, and instrument bezel.

The 2003 Mustang GT was available in Black, Competition Orange (new for ’04), Dark Shadow Grey, Redfire, Screaming Yellow (new for ’04), Silver Metallic, Sonic Blue, Torch Red, and White.

The GT was once again powered by the trusty 4.6 liter V8 and its single overhead cam engine configuration. The two manual transmissions that were available were the T5 and the TR-3650, and the automatic transmission was the 4R70W. The engine was good for 260 horsepower and healthy 302 lbs of torque. With a curb weight of just over 3,400 lbs for the coupe it was capable of zero to 60 mph in mid 5 seconds and quarter mile times in the 13.9 seconds.
