1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Trans-Am Roars At Goodwood

Here’s a video showcasing the 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 race car, which participated in the 2023 Shootout of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, piloted by Fred Shepherd.

This particular Boss 302 was campaigned by Fleetwood Motor Engineers in the early 1970s in the British Saloon Car Championship, with Richard Lloyd securing four wins. Subsequently, in 1974, it took part in the Avon Tour of Britain, sponsored by Simoniz car polish, Castrol Motor Oil, and Charles Austen Pumps Ltd., with Lloyd once again behind the wheel.

Returning to competition, the Boss 302 competed in the Gerry Marshall Trophy during the 2019 Goodwood Members Meeting, driven by Romain Dumas and Bill Shepherd. Last year, it participated in the Festival of Speed, where it was modified to adhere to more liberal Trans-Am style component regulations compared to its normal European Group 1 spec.

Enjoy the roar of its 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine!
