In commemoration of Caroll Shelby’s 98th birthday, Shelby American released a limited production run of 98 Super Snake Speedsters, an exotic open-top version of the S550 Mustang that evokes the streamlined European roadsters of the 1960s.
Under the hood, the Super Snake packs a Whipple-supercharged Coyote V8 generating 825 HP, with new supercharger pulleys, a revised Shelby Extreme cooling system, a specialized tune, a Borla exhaust, and a cooler for the 10-speed automatic transmission.
In its speedster configuration, the Super Snake becomes a strict two-seater, featuring a customized tonneau cover over the rear. The Super Snake also receives a widebody aerodynamic kit, a Shelby suspension package and Brembo brakes, 20” forged aluminum Shelby wheels, and a Shelby-spec interior upgrade.
