The Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R boasts a 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine, making it one of the most emotionally charged powerplants ever installed in an American car. Featuring a flat-plane crankshaft and a specialized exhaust system unique to the pony car, it produces an unforgettable growl distinct from previous Mustangs. Not only does it deliver a remarkable sound, but it also generates an impressive 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft (581 Nm) of torque.
Recognizing the exceptional nature of the Shelby GT350R, Hennessey Performance believed it could further enhance its performance and swiftly introduced the ‘HPE850’ upgrade package for this pony car. This package introduces a 3.0-liter supercharger system to the 5.2-liter Voodoo V8, along with modifications to the throttle body, heat exchanger, air-induction system, and fuel injectors.
True to its name, the upgrade package significantly boosts power output, claiming an impressive 858 horsepower and 673 lb-ft of torque. This increased power enables the car to accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in a rapid 3.3 seconds and complete a quarter-mile run in just 10.8 seconds at a speed of 133 mph (214 km/h).
This particular 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R has been modified with the Hennessey HPE850 package, which includes the addition of a 3.0-liter supercharger system to the 5.2-liter Voodoo V8, along with a revised throttle body, heat exchanger, air-induction system, and fuel injectors. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential. The car is finished in Magnetic Metallic with black racing stripes and features Ebony cloth and Miko suede interior accents.
