This 1972 Ford Mustang is equipped with Sprint Package A, one of two available for its model year. The package includes blue stripes and red pinstripes over Wimbledon White paint, as well as the Exterior Décor Group with blacked-out honeycomb grille, color-keyed front bumper, and hood and fender moldings. It also features body-color racing mirrors and American flag shields on the rear fenders.
Inside, the car continues the all-American color scheme with blue Lambeth cloth inserts and red piping on the white vinyl seats. While the original package came with E70-14 white sidewall tires on steel wheels, this Mustang has been upgraded to 15-inch Magnum 500 wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires.
Under the hood, you’ll find the optional 2-barrel-carbureted 351 CI V-8 engine paired with a SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission. In its 2-barrel configuration, the 351 engine delivers 177 HP and 284 lb-ft of torque. Additional optional features of this fastback include air conditioning and power brakes.
