Mustang Of The Day: 1967 Ford Mustang Custom Fastback

Standley Brothers Hot Rods in Yuba City, California, executed a meticulous six-figure build, elevating this 1967 Ford Mustang Custom Fastback to the next level. Adorned in Diamond White Metallic paint with gray and red accent stripes, the sinuous lines pay homage to its silver screen, race track, and street heritage.

Powering this beauty is a 427 CI Ford Racing V-8 with Inglese individual throttle body fuel injection, Edelbrock Victor Jr. aluminum heads, and Hooker competition ceramic-coated headers for maximum output. Transmitting power to the pavement is a Wilwood hydraulic twin-disc clutch, Tremec 6-speed manual transmission, and Detroit Tru-Trac limited-slip rear with 3.73:1 gears and 31-spline axles. A Billet Specialties serpentine belt drive and a Be Cool radiator ensure optimal performance.

Inside, the air-conditioned black leather interior merges competition equipment with sport touring comfort. The Alcantara steering wheel, TMI bucket seats with Simpson harnesses, column-mount shift light, Hurst shifter, and Classic Instruments gauge cluster create an engaging fastback experience. Standley Brothers custom frame rails house a Heidts Pro G adjustable coilover independent front suspension with power rack-and-pinion steering, and a coilover 4-link rear end with panhard bar for high-G handling.

The classic style is enhanced with staggered width Shelby-style American Racing wheels with knock-off centers and low-profile tires for tenacious grip, while Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes with stainless steel lines provide reliable stopping power.
