This tribute to 55 years of Shelby GT500s is so new that it is still in its original packaging. In 2022, Ford produced a limited number of Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition Mustangs to celebrate the 1967 inception of Shelby’s big-block GT500. This particular example which is currently listed for sale on Bring A Trailer with chassis number N1627 displays only 9 miles on the odometer and retains protective wrapping on the seats, door sills, and steering wheel hub.
All Heritage Edition GT500s were finished in Brittany Blue, a popular color in 1967, and this car features hand-painted white over-the-top stripes. Additionally, it is equipped with the Handling and Technology packages, HID headlights, 20″ split-spoke wheels, Brembo brakes, a louvered hood, heated mirrors, Cobra puddle lamps, a rear wing, and LED taillights with sequential turn signals.
Ford dubbed the 2022 version of the Shelby GT500 “the most powerful street-legal Ford ever built,” thanks to its 5.2L supercharged V-8, producing 760 HP and 625 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential with 3.73:1 gearing.
The interior boasts heated and cooled power-adjustable front seats with Ebony leather, Miko suede inserts, and Dove accents. Interior features include a SYNC 3 infotainment system with an 8″ touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, and Ford Track Apps. The Technology Package adds a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, voice-activated navigation, and BLIS blind-spot monitoring.
