The European version of the Ford Mustang Mach 1, equipped with a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine, generates approximately 460 horsepower and 530 Newton-meters of torque. These are undoubtedly respectable figures; however, the US model outperforms it with an additional 27 horsepower and 40 Newton-meters (30 lb-ft) of torque.

While it may not set any speed records, the Mustang Mach 1 accelerates from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 kph) in just under 5 seconds, showcasing its impressive performance. In fact, its power output places it squarely between the Mustang GT, boasting 450 horsepower and 410 lb-ft (556 Nm) of torque from its 5.0-liter V8 engine, and the Shelby GT500, a powerhouse with a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 producing a staggering 760 horsepower and 625 lb-ft (847 Nm) of torque.

In this video, we get to see a Ford Mustang Mach 1 with European specifications driven hard on the German Autobahn as it chases its rated top speed.
