Ford South Africa has introduced the 2026 Mustang GT Nite Pony Pack, a limited-edition version of the seventh-generation Mustang GT that adds extensive black exterior detailing to the familiar V8-powered fastback. Announced on October 6, 2026, the model combines distinctive styling with the Mustang GT’s established performance credentials, with a recommended retail price of R1,375,000, including VAT.
Blacked-Out Exterior Design
The Nite Pony Pack distinguishes itself through a collection of black-finished components designed to emphasize the Mustang’s long bonnet, muscular rear haunches and fastback silhouette. Standard equipment includes 19-inch black-painted aluminium wheels measuring 19 x 9 inches at the front and 19 x 9.5 inches at the rear.
Additional details include black GT, 5.0 and Pony badges, black mirror caps, a black grille, black headlamp bezels and a black-painted roof. The rear spoiler is finished in Absolute Black, creating a cohesive appearance across the car’s exterior.
Buyers can choose from six colours: Oxford White, Vapor Blue, Orange Fury, Race Red, Molten Magenta and Absolute Black. The contrasting finishes are particularly pronounced against lighter paintwork.
Familiar 5.0-Litre V8 Performance
Under the bonnet, the Mustang GT Nite Pony Pack retains Ford’s naturally aspirated 5.0-litre Coyote V8, producing 328 kW (440 hp) at 7,000 rpm and 540 Nm of torque at 5,100 rpm. Unlike a performance upgrade, the package focuses on visual differentiation rather than additional power.
The South African specification pairs the V8 with a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission featuring paddle shifters. Power reaches the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential.
Six selectable Drive Modes—Normal, Sport, Track, Drag Strip, Slippery and Custom—allow drivers to adjust steering effort, engine response, transmission behaviour and electronic stability control according to driving conditions and preferences.
South African Pricing and Ownership
Priced at R1,375,000 ( $82,746 USD), the Mustang GT Nite Pony Pack includes a six-year/90,000 km Ford Optional Service Plan, a four-year/120,000 km warranty, four-year unlimited-distance roadside assistance and a five-year unlimited-distance corrosion warranty.
Recommended servicing is scheduled every 15,000 km or annually, whichever comes first. Eligible service and over-the-counter parts carry a two-year unlimited-distance warranty.
The launch builds on Mustang’s established South African following, with more than 4,700 vehicles sold locally. The sixth-generation model broadened the nameplate’s reach when it arrived in 2015/2016, while the seventh-generation Mustang GT and Dark Horse followed in late 2024.
The Nite Pony Pack extends that lineup with a darker visual identity while preserving the naturally aspirated V8 character that remains central to the Mustang GT.
