2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse Drag Races A 775hp Ford F-150 by Hennessey

As many are aware, the defining feature of the Dark Horse is its 500-horsepower 5.0 Coyote engine. Ford achieved this by fine-tuning the camshaft, crankshaft, and incorporating connecting rods from the GT500, resulting in a redline of 7,500 RPM and 418 lb-ft of torque. But can it beat a 775hp pickup truck in a drag race?

Hennessey, a Texas-based performance manufacturer, has been offering the Venom 775, based on the F-150, for several years, with the “775” in the name denoting the horsepower output. The quoted performance figures include a 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 11.9 seconds. These are impressive figures.

To settle any doubts about performance, Hennessey has released a video showcasing their Venom 775 F-150 in a drag race against the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse, Ford’s new track-focused sports car with 500 hp.

How did it turned out? Well, the Mustang was smoked every time in all three rolling races. That’s to be expected since the Mustang is at a big disadvantage when it comes to power output. It would be interesting to see though how the Mustang would perform against the F-150 if it were a standing quarter-mile race. Anyways, feel free to watch the video below to see how this matchup went down.
