1976 Ford Mustang Production & Sales Numbers
Body changes for 1976 included cosmetic changes only and they weren’t enough to drive sales growth for the Mustang. Sales for 1976 were basically flat, down 0.53% to 187,567 cars. The product mix was consistent with the the big sellers being the Hardtop coupe and Ghia models. Ford offered two cosmetic option packages, which was popular in the ’70’s. The Cobra II packages which looked similar to the early Shelbys sold very well with 25,259 units sold in 1976.
