Jay Leno Drives A Custom GT350 Mustang

The OVC GT350 Roadster, as featured in Jay Leno’s Garage, pays homage to the original 1965 GT350 but with a modern twist. Built by the Original Venice Crew (OVC), this roadster retains the spirit of the ’65 Mustang while introducing modern updates for an enhanced driving experience.

The OVC GT350 Roadster features a 331-cubic-inch engine, an upgrade from the original 289, delivering a robust 460 horsepower. The engine setup includes aluminum heads, a hydraulic cam, and a single four-barrel carburetor, providing a balance of power and reliability. The engine bay retains the classic look, reminiscent of the ’60s muscle car era.

One notable modification is the redesigned front fascia by Peter Brock, the designer of the iconic Daytona Coupe. The roadster’s exterior reflects period-correct elements, including the distinctive racing stripes, GT350 badging, and the iconic Shelby wheels. Inside, the interior strikes a balance between the original GT350’s no-nonsense racing vibe and a more inviting, white-themed cabin, complete with a center console and a classic steering wheel.
