Shelby American, Inc. unveiled the Signature Series Ford Mustang at the 2020 National Automobile Dealer Association Show in Las Vegas as a homage to Carroll Shelby. The vehicle featured a supercharged 5.0L V-8 engine, producing 825 HP, equipped with a high-flow exhaust system and various cooling upgrades. Buyers had the choice between a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission, as well as the option of a coupe or convertible in any standard color from the Mustang catalog.
Maintaining its exclusivity, only 50 Signature Series Mustangs were produced, each distinguished by unique customizations, including widened aluminum fenders for a square footprint. This design not only added a menacing look but also allowed the one-piece forged Monoblock wheels and Ford Performance-tuned MagneRide suspension to optimize the power from the supercharged engine.
Every aspect of the Signature Series was meticulously engineered for enhanced performance. Elements such as the metallic ram air hood, front fascia, and bodywork were designed to manage air and reduce temperatures under the hood. Shelby collaborated with Ford Performance and other partners to incorporate top-notch ideas into the concept, ensuring the Signature Series stood as the ultimate Mustang.
The 2020 Ford Mustang GT convertible you see here courtesy of Bring A Trailer, is the 16th of around 50 examples produced by Shelby American with the Carroll Shelby Signature Series package for the 2020 model year.
The package elevated the 5.0-liter V8 to 825 horsepower using a Whipple supercharger and a Shelby-tuned Borla exhaust system. It included a dual-intake ram air hood, widened aluminum front fenders, unique front and rear fascias, a convertible light bar, 20″ forged aluminum wheels, Shelby Performance Track Handling suspension, Shelby rear half-shafts, and enhanced cooling systems for the 10-speed automatic transmission and Brembo brakes.
Finished in Race Red with a black convertible top over black Katzkin leather upholstery, the car boasted heated, cooled, and power-adjustable front seats, a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, adaptive cruise control, SYNC 3 infotainment with voice-activated navigation, and a limited-slip differential.
This limited-edition Mustang is now offered for sale with just 569 miles on the clock and will come with Ford and Shelby American window stickers, a Shelby American Vehicle Authenticity Certificate, a Shelby American packing slip, various accessories, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title.
