In 2016, Ford Motor Company, in partnership with Shelby American and Hertz, revealed a special collection of 2016 Ford Mustang GTs called the Shelby GT-H, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the iconic Shelby GT350-H. Honoring the legacy of the renowned “Rent-A-Racer” program from the 1960s, a limited production of 171 2016 Ford Shelby GT-Hs was exclusively available through the Hertz Adrenaline Collection at selected airport locations across the continental United States.
Remaining faithful to its heritage, the 2016 Ford Shelby GT-H exhibited captivating design elements. Each vehicle featured a sleek black exterior finish, accentuated by striking gold racing stripes—a distinctive hallmark of Hertz vehicles since the 1920s. The iconic “Le Mans” dual racing stripes by Shelby were complemented by rocker stripes bearing the “Shelby GT-H” emblem. Additionally, these cars proudly displayed a Hertz Edition emblem on the front fenders, along with Hertz Shelby GT-H sill plates and a numbered badge, emphasizing their exclusivity.
