Now listed on Bring a Trailer, this 1968 Ford Mustang fastback is a thoroughly reengineered tribute to the legendary Eleanor Mustang from Gone in 60 Seconds. Built by Ikonic Concepts under official license to mark the film’s 25th anniversary, the car combines unmistakable Eleanor-inspired styling with modern chassis engineering, a supercharged Coyote V8, and contemporary comfort features. An accompanying Eleanor-style sofa is also included with the sale.
The transformation began with the Mustang’s body mounted on a rotisserie, where the structure was tapered throughout its length to accommodate a rear track widened by six inches. Eleanor-specific bodywork was subsequently installed before the fastback was finished in two-stage Pepper Gray paint. Black over-the-top stripes and multiple layers of clearcoat provide the characteristic high-contrast appearance. Exterior details include a domed hood secured by exposed pins, Hella driving lamps, bullet-style mirrors, side-exit exhaust outlets, and a flip-up fuel filler. At the rear, sequential taillights frame a backlit, laser-cut Gone in 60 Seconds emblem, reinforcing the car’s direct connection to its cinematic inspiration.
Underneath, the build moves far beyond cosmetic customization. HR MFG in Cocoa, Florida, extensively reworked the chassis with tubular-steel crossmembers and a front subframe fabricated from mandrel-bent 2×4-inch box tubing. Billet front control arms and spindles support the independent front suspension, while the rear employs a torque-arm configuration paired with a billet Watt’s linkage. AFCO adjustable coilovers are fitted at all four corners, complemented by electro-hydraulic power steering and an electric parking brake. HR MFG alloy wheels feature faux three-eared spinners and Continental ExtremeContact tires. Stopping power comes from Baer 6S 15-inch disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors, providing a substantial upgrade over the original Mustang’s braking hardware.
Inside, the cabin combines period-inspired character with modern functionality. Black upholstery incorporates patterned inserts, contrasting stitching, embroidered seatbacks, and a folding rear bench. A roll bar and Crow front harnesses add a motorsport-inspired edge, while sound insulation beneath the carpeting improves refinement. Convenience equipment includes keyless entry, push-button ignition, air conditioning, power windows and locks, wireless charging, and a retro-style digital media receiver.
The audio system feeds a 1,600-watt amplifier and twin 10-inch subwoofers integrated into the rear panel. A “Go Baby Go” shifter knob, decorative NOS bottle, carbon-fiber-pattern steering wheel, and app-controlled red LED lighting further distinguish the interior. The dashboard is also signed by stunt coordinator Chuck Picerni Jr. Instrumentation comes from Classic Instruments’ Velocity series, with a 160-mph speedometer, 10,000-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges.
At the heart of the Mustang is a Gen 3 5.0-liter Coyote V8 crate engine fitted with a Roush supercharger. The DOHC engine incorporates variable valve timing and breathes through ceramic-coated headers connected to a 2.5-inch stainless-steel dual exhaust system. Cooling is handled by a high-capacity aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, while the trunk houses dual 12-volt batteries and a trickle charger.
A Tremec TKX Extreme five-speed manual transmission transfers the supercharged V8’s output to a Ford 9-inch rear end. The result is a modernized interpretation of one of cinema’s most recognizable muscle cars, blending authentic Eleanor styling with serious mechanical upgrades and contemporary drivability.
