FOR SALE: 1967 Mustang Fastback GT500E-Style

A GT500E-Style 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback with Gen 2 Coyote V8 and Six-Speed Manual

Blending classic American muscle with modern engineering, this extensively reimagined 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback is now available on Bring a Trailer following a meticulous multi-year transformation. Purchased by the current owner in 2015 after reportedly spending nearly 30 years off the road, the fastback underwent a comprehensive restoration and performance build between 2018 and 2021. Inspired by the iconic GT500E featured in the 2000 remake of Gone in 60 Seconds, the project combines aggressive Eleanor-inspired styling with thoroughly modern mechanical components to create a restomod designed for contemporary performance and drivability.

Originally finished in Medium Blue Metallic, the Mustang was stripped to its foundation before receiving a Mustangs to Fear Eleanor-style body kit in 2019. The seller then refinished the body in striking Pepper Grey Metallic accented by metallic black racing stripes running the length of the car. Exterior enhancements include a sculpted domed hood, integrated rear spoiler, Shelby-style tail panel, auxiliary driving lights, bullet-style mirrors, Shelby GT500 badging, and a functional side-exit exhaust system that reinforces the car’s aggressive appearance.

The Mustang rides on 17-inch Legendary Wheel Company Halibrand-style wheels fitted with faux three-eared knock-off spinners and wrapped in Hankook Ventus V12 EVO2 performance tires. Beneath the bodywork, the chassis has been comprehensively modernized with a Total Control Products Mustang II-style independent front suspension featuring tubular control arms, adjustable coilover shocks, power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, and adjustable sway bars. At the rear, a Chris Alston’s Chassisworks triangulated four-link suspension further sharpens handling, while Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors provide substantial stopping capability.

Inside, the cabin seamlessly blends vintage character with modern comfort. Black leather Cerullo power-adjustable bucket seats with red contrast stitching are paired with a matching rear bench, coordinated door panels, carpeting, and headliner. A custom center console integrates controls for heated seats and power windows, while additional amenities include Vintage Air climate control, touchscreen infotainment with Bluetooth connectivity, and a backup camera. A wood-rim steering wheel mounted on a tilt column sits ahead of Classic Industries Velocity instrumentation featuring a 160-mph speedometer, 10,000-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The mechanical odometer displays approximately 15,000 miles, representing the distance accumulated since the completion of the build.

Power comes from a rebuilt Gen 2 5.0-liter Ford Coyote V8, which was reportedly balanced, blueprinted, and upgraded with aluminum valve covers, a cold-air intake, and a Ford Performance wiring harness during assembly. Cooling is managed by a Cold Case aluminum radiator, while an Optima battery supports the electrical system.

The engine sends power to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a durable Ford 9-inch rear axle. Completing the drivetrain is a custom exhaust system featuring headers, a crossover pipe, polished mufflers, and the signature Mustangs to Fear side-exit configuration, delivering both unmistakable sound and modern V8 performance worthy of its Eleanor-inspired appearance.
