Ford and Hertz have teamed up for a special series known as the “rent-a-racer,” which began with the iconic Shelby GT350-H in 1966, followed by the 2006 Shelby GT-H and the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H. These models, produced in limited quantities, are rarely seen for sale today.
However, an exceptionally rare 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H coupe is currently available for purchase at Cars & Bids. This particular example is part of a limited-edition fleet of modified Mustang GTs created by Shelby American in collaboration with Hertz to commemorate Shelby American’s 60th anniversary.
Offered in both fastback and convertible configurations, these vehicles feature iconic Hertz gold body stripes, aero upgrades, and commemorative badging throughout. Shelby American reportedly produced only two coupes and two convertible models of this generation equipped with a Whipple supercharger kit, boosting the 5.0-liter V8 to approximately 825 horsepower. This makes this specific GT-H a one-of-two model worldwide.
Setting it apart further, this 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H boasts a Rapid Red Metallic finish instead of the traditional black, complementing its gold stripes. The Shelby GT-H Upgrade Package includes special features like unique 20-inch aluminum wheels, gold Le Mans-style racing stripes, Hertz Edition and Shelby badging, a Shelby deep draw hood, upper grille, fascia winglets, taillight panel, and rear spoiler.
Inside the cabin, notable touches include a CSM numbered dash plaque and engine plate, boost pressure and oil pressure gauges, Shelby leather seat covers, embroidered floor mats, and illuminated door sill plates.
This Mustang Shelby GT-H is now offered with only 750 miles on the clock, presenting itself as a thrilling option for its next owner.
