Marking 55 years since the original Mustang-based Shelby GT500, the 2022 Ford Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition serves as a proper send-off for the current GT500 generation—much like the Heritage editions of the Ford GT and Shelby GT350 before it.
Drawing inspiration from the 1967 GT500, this special edition wears Brittany Blue paint paired with either Wimbledon White or Absolute Black stripes. While vinyl stripes come standard, buyers could opt for hand-painted striping at an added cost of $12,500.
This particular example, listed on Bring a Trailer, features the hand-painted white Heritage stripes and represents one of the most powerful Mustang ever offered. It’s driven by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 producing 760 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque, mated to a Tremec seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Its Brittany Blue exterior is complemented by an Ebony interior featuring Recaro leather-trimmed seats. It’s also fitted with the $18,500 Carbon Fiber Track Pack, enhancing both performance and handling, while the Technology Package adds a Bang & Olufsen 12-speaker sound system, navigation touchscreen, and driver-assist features such as blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert.
Built with track use in mind, it comes equipped with a rear-seat delete, exposed carbon-fiber rear wing, Torsen 3.73 rear axle, lightweight 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels, an engine oil cooler, and MagneRide suspension.
With just 48 miles on the odometer, this final-run GT500 Heritage Edition stands as a rare and highly desirable modern performance car.
