It was way back in 1966 that Carroll Shelby partnered with Hertz Corporation to create 1,000 GT350H “Rent-A-Racer” fastback coupes, following a line of successful ventures like the Cobra and GT350. This successful partnership returned to the spotlight in 2022, marking nearly 60 years of history, with a new version based on the 2022 Mustang GT.
The 2022 Hertz-Shelby edition boasts distinctive styling cues: GT-H Shelby 60th Anniversary emblems, a Shelby CSM dash plaque, modified GT-H-embroidered bucket seats, and more. Four special Shelby GT-H convertibles, were enhanced with Shelby superchargers, elevating their horsepower to 825, double that of the standard GT-H.
Underneath the hood lies a gold-painted Whipple/Shelby supercharger, significantly boosting the car’s power. Ford’s reliable automatic transmission and robust G-Force half shafts, capable of handling 1,500 HP, ensure optimal drivetrain performance.
This 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H convertible which is now up for sale on Bring A Trailer, is one of two modified by Shelby American for Hertz rentals. It features a Whipple-supercharged 5.0-liter V8 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Finished in Shadow Black with gold vinyl accents, it’s equipped with Shelby GT-H-specific enhancements, a Borla cat-back exhaust system, and advanced amenities like Magneride damping, adaptive cruise control, and Bang & Olufsen sound.
With only 3,400 miles on the odometer, this unique GT-H convertible comes complete with a Whipple Tomahawk V1 tuner, original documentation, and a Colorado title, offering a rare opportunity for enthusiasts.
