Ford secures third straight Goodwood Victory with Super Mustang Mach-E

Ford Performance has added another milestone to its growing portfolio of electric motorsport achievements after the Super Mustang Mach-E EV demonstrator captured victory in the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed Timed Shoot-Out. Fresh from its triumph at the 2026 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the all-electric prototype continued its dominant form by delivering the fastest run up the famous Goodwood Hill, extending Ford Racing’s winning streak to three consecutive years.

Behind the wheel was renowned hill climb specialist Romain Dumas, whose experience extracting maximum performance from high-powered electric race cars once again proved invaluable. The Super Mustang Mach-E stormed the 1.16-mile course in an astonishing 41.98 seconds, a performance so extraordinary that Ford engineers revealed it surpassed even their most optimistic computer simulations.

The result further cements Ford’s position at the forefront of high-performance EV development. Supported by Ford Racing and Austrian engineering partner STARD, the Super Mustang Mach-E demonstrated exceptional acceleration, grip, and aerodynamic efficiency while edging out one of the event’s strongest competitors—a cutting-edge Gen4 Formula E machine—by an incredibly narrow margin.

The victory also completes a remarkable three-year run of dominance for Ford at the prestigious Festival of Speed. The streak began in 2024 when Dumas piloted the radical SuperVan 4.2 to victory with a 43.98-second climb. Ford returned in 2025 with the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck, lowering the benchmark to 43.22 seconds before shattering it once again in 2026 with the even faster Super Mustang Mach-E.

Beyond collecting trophies, the program serves a broader engineering purpose. The Super Mustang Mach-E functions as an advanced technology demonstrator, allowing Ford engineers to evaluate next-generation electric powertrain systems, battery performance, thermal management strategies, chassis dynamics, and aerodynamic concepts under the extreme demands of competitive motorsport.
