Ford Australia has officially announced the return of its flagship muscle car for 2026, headlined by a locally-developed, track-focused masterpiece: the Mustang Dark Horse T8-Spec Pack.

Created in collaboration with Triple Eight Race Engineering—the legendary team behind Red Bull Ampol Racing—this exclusive edition is limited to just 250 units. Each vehicle will be hand-finished at Ford’s Plant 2 facility in Melbourne, marking a high-performance return to the site of the former Falcon manufacturing lines.

Precision Track Engineering

While the T8-Spec retains the potent 350kW (469hp) 5.0L Coyote V8, the upgrades focus entirely on handling and aerodynamics to translate Triple Eight’s championship-winning expertise to the road.

  • Chassis & Suspension: Features a revised MagneRide tune, stiffer springs and roll bars, and adjustable top mounts for sharper steering response.
  • The “Trofeo” Footprint: The car sits on massive 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in track-ready Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tyres (305mm front / 315mm rear).
  • Aerodynamic Edge: A larger rear spoiler with a Grabber Blue-accented gurney flap is paired with a massive front splitter. Note: The front splitter is supplied unfitted and is intended for track use only.

Collector’s Design & VIP Access

The T8-Spec is instantly recognizable in its exclusive Avalanche Prestige Paint. The exterior features signature Triple Eight badging, Notorious Blue Brembo calipers, and a black roof. Inside, the cockpit is equipped with Recaro sports seats, a unique Triple Eight gear shift knob, and a sequentially numbered build plate on the dash.

As a final perk, every owner receives an invitation to an exclusive Track Experience at Queensland Raceway in early 2027, where they can learn the car’s full potential alongside the Triple Eight racing team.

Pricing and Availability

Priced at AUD $138,888 (plus on-road costs), the T8-Spec is available strictly with the Tremec six-speed manual transmission. For those who miss out on the 250 T8 units, Ford is also offering an additional 500 standard Dark Horse units starting at $104,990.
