The Ford Mustang Mach-E was just recently given a perfect 5-star double Euro NCAP and Green NCAP rating. Another accolade to be added in their ever-expanding list of awards and recognitions.
The all new, all-electric SUV from Ford got the maximum 5-star ratings from both bodies. Making the assessments were the independent vehicle safety authority and the independent initiative that promotes the development of clean, energy efficient, and environmentally friendly cars.
In strict crash testing for occupant protection, the Mustang Mach-E impressively scored 92 percent for adults and 86 percent for child occupants.
The Mustang Mach-E was also given driver assistance technologies that helped contribute to the maximum safety rating of the SUV. Some of the standard advanced driver assistance technologies that were given to the SUV were Pre-Collision Assist with Auto Emergency Braking, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centering, and Lane-Keeping System with Blind Spot Assist. Of course, the driver-assist features are only supplemental. It should not replace the driver’s attention, judgement, and control of the vehicle.
The Mustang Mach-E is powered by a zero-tailpipe-emission, battery-electric powertrain, with a pure-electric driving range capacity of 379 miles WLPT. Green NCAP also assessed the Mustang Mach-E and it got full marks in clean air and greenhouse gas tests.
The Mustang Mach-E also received a 94 percent score in terms of energy efficiency. The SUV got full marks in terms of operation in cold and warm condition done in laboratory tests.
“Mustang Mach-E was developed from the ground up as an all-electric vehicle, so we could develop safety and environmental performance into every corner of the all-new design. The result is that customers can be confident they’re driving a vehicle that can look after them just as much as it looks after the environment,” shared Ford of Europe Safety Engineering director Stuart Southgate.
On top of the new awards given by Green NCAP and Euro NCAP, the Mustang Mach-E has received more than 20 commendations from all over the world. Some of the awards that were given to the SUV include an iF DESIGN AWARD given to Ford for the integration of the B & O Sound System speakers. During the Automobile Awards by MOTUL, Ford was also given the Connected Car Manufacturer Award for the next-generation SYNC technology.
Mustang Mach-E is one of only six Ford nameplates that offers electrified powertrains in their lineup. Now, it has been given the maximum 5-star rating by Euro NCAP along, it joins the ever growing list with the Ford Kuga, Kuga Hybrid, Kuga Plug-In Hybrid, Explorer Plug-In Hybrid, Puma, Fiesta, and Focus.
Never a Mustang…the ‘e’ is not a Mustang.
