Ford Motor Company has unveiled the new Ford Mustang GTD Spirit of America, a patriotic, track-focused special edition designed to celebrate American innovation, speed, and engineering excellence. Inspired by the Mustang’s racing heritage and the fearless spirit of American record breakers, the model represents the most exclusive and performance-oriented interpretation of the iconic pony car yet.

The Spirit of America edition arrives as Mustang continues to cement its place among the world’s elite performance cars. Originally conceived in the early 1960s as a sporty compact coupe, Mustang evolved into a global performance icon and recently became the first vehicle from an American automaker to lap Germany’s Nürburgring in under seven minutes.

Ford says the special edition also pays tribute to legendary land-speed racer Craig Breedlove, who famously shattered the 500-mph and 600-mph barriers during the 1960s using jet-powered machines built with surplus aircraft technology. His determination and ingenuity inspired the engineers behind the Mustang GTD program.

Visually, the Mustang GTD Spirit of America features a Performance White exterior accented by Race Red and Lightning Blue racing stripes that run across the body, echoing the classic red, white, and blue Mustang tribar emblem. Exposed carbon fiber is used extensively on aerodynamic elements including the front splitter, rear diffuser, and large rear wing. Red brake calipers and the standard GTD Performance Package further emphasize its aggressive character.

Inside, the cabin combines premium materials with motorsport-inspired detailing. Leather-trimmed seats with Dinamica inserts, Victory Blue stitching, and optional 3D-printed titanium components create a distinctly high-performance atmosphere.

Power comes from a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 producing 815 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. With a top speed of 202 mph, the Mustang GTD Spirit of America becomes the fastest and most powerful street-legal Mustang ever created.
