Special Model for the Chicagoland Area

1967 Ford Mustang Limited Edition 400

We couldn’t find a lot on the Limited Edition 400, but the guys at Mustang Attitude have it covered. For more on this car, please check out Mustang Attitude. Below is a summary from their site:

The 1967 Ford Mustang Limited Edition 400 was a special variant of the 1967 Mustang built for the Chicagoland area. The newspaper ads are basically all we have to go on in terms of information. They were painted deep metallic gold, had louvered hoods, wheel lip and deck lid lip metal trim, deluxe wheel covers, Limited Edition 400 fender emblems, and a Limited Edition 400 owners name dash plate. It is estimated that about 400 cars we built and that all cars were sold in the Chicagoland Area. The ads said:

Special high-style trim and deluxe equipment includes: new automatic/manual SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic, radio, deluxe wheel covers, “breather” hood louvers with turn signal indicators, bright-metal moldings at wheel cutouts and rear deck lid, Limited Edition 400 emblem on fender, personal nameplate on instrument panel.
