The Mustangs Across America 50th Anniversary drive is a GO after it was canceled early on due to a disagreement with the folks from the Mustang Club of America (MCA). It seems cooler heads have prevailed as the 50th Anniversary drive is set for a Los Angeles to Charlotte, NC drive starting April 10th and ending April 16th at Lowe’s Motor Speedway just in time for the MCA 50th Anniversary Car Show.
The drive brings together Mustang enthusiasts young and old from all over the US and the World with Mustangs ranging from 1964 to present day models. Its a trip that will cover over 2400 miles of roads lasting seven days with stops planned in Phoenix AZ, Las Cruces NM, Midland TX, Dallas TX, Jackson MS and Atlanta.The culmination of the cross-country drive will coincide with the beginning of the MCA’s 50 Anniversary Mustang Car show which is held over four days starting April 17 and ending on April 20.

Day 1 – April 10, 2014: Los Angeles, CA to Phoenix, AZ
Day 2 – April 11, 2014: Phoenix, AZ to Las Cruces, NM
Day 3 – April 12, 2014: Las Cruces, NM to Midland, TX
Day 4 – April 13, 2014: Midland, TX to Dallas, TX
Day 5 – April 14, 2014: Dallas, TX to Jackson, MS
Day 6 – April 15, 2014: Jackson, MS to Atlanta, GA
Day 7 – April 16, 2014: Atlanta, GA to Charlotte, NC
Cost of registration for the event is $99 and it will get you a full package of goodies including printed travel guides with detailed route information, discounted hotel rates, and listings of local services in places they visit. Registered participants get access to certain private events along the way and a package complete with a minted commemorative coin, dash plaque and several other special event items.
