Ford Mustang sales took a nose dive in September as sales were off 25% from the previous month showing us interest in the S197 platform is faltering. With the 2015 Ford Mustang coming next spring buyers may be reluctant to purchase a model they know will be outdated in less than six months.

Sales of the Ford Mustang for September of 2013 were 4,420 compared to 4,439 from September of 2012 showing a 0.4% decrease in sales from the previous year. Year to date Mustang sales are 59,165 compared to 66,821 for 2013, which is a 11.5% decrease over the previous year.
Month to Month sales were down considerably as August 2013 sales were 5,866 compared to September 2013 sales of 4,420 which is a 25% decrease.
Taking a look at the competition, the Chevrolet Camaro sold 5,659 units and the Dodge Challenger sold 3,932 units for September.
