Ford is expanding its electric SUV lineup with the 2027 Mustang Mach-E Trail, a new package designed for drivers who want greater confidence on gravel roads, dirt tracks, and other unpaved routes leading to campsites, hiking trails, and outdoor destinations. Based on the Mustang Mach-E Select with all-wheel drive, the Trail combines revised suspension tuning, additional ground clearance, all-season tires, and practical accessories while retaining the everyday usability of Ford’s electric crossover.

Revised Suspension and Rally-Derived Hardware

The 2027 Mustang Mach-E Trail features specially tuned front and rear passive struts and springs, increasing ride height by 10 millimeters at the front and 15 millimeters at the rear compared with the standard Select and Premium models.

Ford also equips the Trail with the steering rack, 19-inch High Gloss Dark Carbonized Gray wheels, and Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires from the Mustang Mach-E Rally. These components are intended to improve traction and control across pavement, gravel, and dirt, while providing additional confidence in changing weather conditions.

A Carbon Black lower front fascia and a dedicated Mach-E Trail logo on the center armrest distinguish the new package visually. The Trail is designed for light off-pavement travel rather than demanding technical off-roading.

Power and Accessories for Outdoor Activities

The Mach-E Trail includes 400-watt Pro Power Onboard, with outlets in the cargo area and behind the center console. The system can power smaller accessories such as camp lights, fans, personal electronics, and pumps for inflating paddleboards or bicycle tires.

Ford also offers a Thule clamp-on crossbar kit for carrying bicycles, kayaks, and cargo boxes. An optional Interior Protection Package adds all-weather floor mats and a cargo-area protector.

Trail buyers receive an additional 100,000 Ford Rewards points, on top of the 22,000 points available to all Mustang Mach-E customers at purchase. These points can be redeemed for eligible accessories, parts, merchandise, and other experiences.

2027 Mustang Mach-E Lineup Updates

Beyond the Trail package, Ford makes extended-range batteries standard across the 2027 Mustang Mach-E lineup. Select and Premium models receive 88 kWh of usable battery capacity, while GT and Rally models receive 91 kWh.

The entry-level Select rear-wheel-drive model starts at $39,995 before destination and delivery charges. Ford has also introduced a lower-cost secondary drive unit while maintaining the previous front motor’s performance.

Desert Sand and Shadow Black join the standard color options, while several metallic and premium finishes remain available at additional cost.

BlueCruise 1.5 is optional on Select and Premium models when equipped with the required technology packages and standard on GT and Rally models. The Ford Connectivity Package and Ford Security Package also become standard, each including one year of service.

Ordering and Availability

Orders for the 2027 Mustang Mach-E are open through Ford dealerships. The Mach-E Trail is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2027, with the online Build & Price configurator scheduled to open early next year.

Ford has not disclosed the Trail package’s individual price in the supplied announcement. Its appeal rests on a focused combination of improved ground clearance, all-season traction, and outdoor-friendly functionality, giving electric SUV buyers another option for reaching destinations beyond paved roads.
