2024 Ford Mustang VIN 001 sells for $565,000 at auction

Ford Motor Company is celebrating the all-new 2024 Ford Mustang GT by auctioning this VIN 001 fastback to benefit charity. The 2024 Ford Mustang GT the most exhilarating Ford Mustang yet, from its fighter jet-inspired digital cockpit to the advanced V8 engine and edgier, yet timeless exterior design.

Highlights include a completely rethought interior, the most athletic V8 engine ever, more tech, and more customization. The seventh-generation Ford Mustang adds a modern chiseled look to its heritage-inspired design. Mustang offers 11 exterior colors complemented by new stripe colors and designs. Customers also can choose from three Brembo brake-caliper color options plus an all-new lineup of alloy wheels.

Behind the chiseled exterior silhouette of this Mustang lies the most technologically advanced, driver-centric cockpit of any Mustang to date. The all-new Mustang GT’s fourth-generation Coyote V8 offers up to 486 horsepower thanks to a new dual-throttle body design with an available active-valve performance exhaust system. The engine can be connected to a rev-matching 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Mustang GT is available with an optional Performance Pack, which adds a host of track-focused features like RECARO seats and active exhaust. The drive modes combined with the fine-tuned digital engine, suspension, and steering controls allow drivers to enjoy peak performance enjoy everywhere, from their favorite roads to their local track.

The electronic drift brake unlocks the rear-wheel-drive drifting capability of the Mustang. Additional new tech features include Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering Assist, Evasive Steer Assist, and Reverse Brake Assist. Another key feature is Active Pothole Mitigation, which continually monitors suspension, body, steering, and braking input and adjusts suspension response accordingly. The winning bidder can choose any standard Ford Mustang GT fastback option, including color, transmission, and interior packages. The entire sale price of this vehicle will benefit the charity.

The last charity lot on Saturday for the 2023 Scottsdale auction was this VIN 001 Ford Mustang GT Fastback, and when the hammer came down, the high bid was a staggering $490,000 … but that wasn’t the final amount that would be donated to the charity listed above, an additional $50,000 donation from San Tan Ford and another additional $25,000 was donated by Michelle Mauzy, noted philanthropist and longtime member of the Barrett-Jackson family, bringing the total amount well over half a million dollar, $565,000 to be exact, with the entire amount benefiting JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
