2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E Overview
During the fall of 2019, Ford unveiled a creation unlike anything to have ever touted the Mustang nameplate. Upon its release, the Mustang Mach-E served as quite the departure from traditional pony-car production, showcasing an innovative all-electric drivetrain, and a footprint similar to that of many popular offerings within the ever growing crossover market.
Ford has continued to expand upon the Mach-E platform during the 2023 model year, making a host of revisions aimed at increasing the all-electric Mustang’s effective operating range and overall practicality. This most notably includes the addition of an extended-range battery pack for all Premium AWD models, and Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 as standard equipment across all trims. Also new for 2023, is an all-new Nite Pony package, complete with a host of upgraded equipment.

Background & Details
Ford has been quite adamant in their pledge toward transitioning to an all-electric portfolio in the near future, even suggesting that such a conversion might be completed in its entirety by 2030. While most believed that such changes would eventually take place, few could have imagined that the automaker’s premier performance car would be among the first platforms of experimentation for these endeavors.
Though critics were quick to levy their skepticism, many were forced to recant after taking a closer look at the newly released Mach-E’s performance specifications. The Mach-E mustered significant output, both in terms of available horsepower and torque (up to 480 hp / 643 lb-ft), even claiming a standard 0-60 MPH time of under 4-seconds.
The Mach-E has benefited from slight gains in estimated travel distance per charge for the 2023 model year. The all-electric Mustang can be purchased with a consumer’s choice of two individual battery packs, the first of which is of a standard 70.0 kWh configuration. The latter of these two available batteries (Extended-Range) is of 91.0 kWh configuration, which Ford claims can provide up to 300-miles of continued service.
Many have also been rather complimentary of the Mach-E’s full suite of driver convenience features and functions. The Mach-E is offered with a sizable infotainment interface, engineered to maximize the driving experience at hand. Additionally, the Mach-E now comes standard with Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 driver assist package.

2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E Select
The Mach-E, in its base format, carries Ford’s “Select” designation, though this all-electric pony is anything but basic in nature. Included as standard equipment are an eight-way adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control system, and synthetic leather upholstery coverings. Also of note, are the Mach-E Select’s LED head and tail lights, and 18-inch aluminum wheels.
The Mustang Mach-E comes equipped with Ford’s standard-range battery and rear wheel drive motors. However, consumers can opt for the purchase of an extended-range battery or all-wheel drive motor instead, for a reasonable upcharge.
2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium
The 2023 Mustang Mach-E Premium is always an option for those in search of a high-end all-electric crossover. This trim offers up a few additional upgrades not found on “Select” models. Some of the most notable of these upgrades include the addition of heated/ventilated front seats, panoramic roof glass, and an electrically actuated lift gate. Premium models also feature a more robust fast charger.
Consumers can also opt for Ford’s Nite Pony package when purchasing the Mach-E in its Premium trim. This package includes custom black exterior accenting, and Gloss Black 19-inch wheels.

2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E California Route 1
The Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 edition is again offered for the 2023 model year, blending standout performance, extended operating capabilities, and cutting-edge tech to offer a driving experience like none other. The Mach-E Route 1 exhibits an EPA-Estimated range of 312 miles when equipped with Ford’s Extended-Range battery, while also proving capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in less than 5 seconds.
Also worth mentioning is the Mach-E’s lengthy list of interior amenities and Driver-assist features. This package includes heated front seats, Co-Pilot 360 technology, and BlueCruise 1.2 hands-free driving functionality. One can even use their phone in place of a traditional key if they so choose.
2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT
The Mach-E, though of an all-electric design, is still a Mustang at heart. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Mach-E, in its top-tier format, sports “GT” badging. At first glance, this Mach-E looks quite deserving of its legendary GT title. This package includes a wealth of sporty trim, not found on base models, along with 20-inch gloss-black painted wheels. These rims come outfitted with a set of high-performance 245/45R20 Pirelli all-season tires, chosen specifically for their enhanced tractive capabilities.
The Mustang Mach-E is also certainly no slouch in the performance department. This potent Pony comes standard with Ford’s AWD dual drive motors, which proved capable of powering the Mach-E to an official 0-60 MPH time of only 3.5 seconds. With a documented peak output of 480 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque, there is no denying that the Mach-E GT should provide plenty of excitement for the thrill-seeking motorist.
