1968 Ford Mustang Production & Sales Numbers

A total of 317,404 Mustangs were sold in 1968. Once again, the Hardtop coupe was the biggest seller, making up almost 79% of the cars sold. The fastback sold 42,581 units (13% of sales) and the convertible sold 25,376 units (8% of sales). The initial sales success of the Mustang started to slow down in 1968, with sales down 22% from 1967 with sales of 472,121 cars.

In terms of the popular choices, the standard interior hardtop made up almost 74% of total sales while the fastback with standard interior was also popular with just under 11% of total sales in 1968.
