The return of the Shelby GT350 nameplate may be coming sooner than later as rumblings across several forums seem to think an announcement is imminent. The announcement for the 2011 Shelby GT350 could come as soon as January 18th at the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction during an opening night gala celebrating the GT350’s 45th anniversary. If the rumors are true the 2011 Shelby GT350 will be based off the 2011 Mustang GT while using the all-new 5.0-liter motor with minor modifications and mostly appearance items added similar to the 2007-08 Shelby GT’s.
The new Shelby GT350 model was pretty much confirmed over at TeamShelby.com where Shelby American president Amy Boylan chimed in with a post saying ” It will be what it will be and some will love it some will hate it, some will say too much others will say perfect!, We will see”. With these words it pretty much confirms the rumors about the Shelby GT350’s return in some form. Will it be a limited edition pure race vehicle or will it be a model similar to that of the Shelby GT. Only time will tell so check back later as news could drop anytime for this vehicle.
