1983 Ford Mustang Production & Sales Numbers

A total of 120,873 Mustangs were sold in 1983, down 7.32% from 1982. While this was the fourth year of declining Mustang sales, it was a slowdown in the rate of decline so there was some hope in Ford that things were turning around for the brand. In 1983, several changes took place with the design of the Mustang and that really helped. For the first time in years the split between hatchback and coupe sales were pretty even.
